I love being a Virginia Wedding Photographer! Especially when I get to photograph something I’ve never done before. Meet Alexis & Bhaba, they live in Roanoke, VA, but were getting married in NoVA at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, VA. They were having a Hindu ceremony and a traditional Christian ceremony with lots of guests and family coming in from near and far. I showed up the day prior to shoot the Sangeet and was blown away by all of the beautiful saris, mehendi, and dancing! It was a great night and I couldn’t wait for the next day.

The wedding day started with the Bride getting ready with her bridal party and beautiful Indian attire. Alexis and Bhaba were having a first look session prior to the first ceremony so they could have some alone time before all the activity started. After that it was time for the Barat. Again, I was blown away by all of the traditions. The bride’s family awaited everyone at the hotel entrance. This is known as the Swagatam. Then it was time for the Rakshaabandhanam where the bride’s father escorts the groom to the priest. From there they took Bhaba to the mandap to start the ceremony. They then performed the rest of the Hindu ceremony and it really was something to behold. It was very moving and beautiful.

With ceremony 1 done, it was time for the next one. Alexis and Bhaba went back to their rooms to change for the Christian ceremony. The service was performed by her step father and even though it wasn’t as long as the Hindu ceremony, it was still beautiful. What an honor it was to witness and capture this day for them.

The reception followed and was super. I thought they danced their butts off the night before, but I was wrong. The dancing never stopped until the DJ called it quits. I had a great time and was super honored to be a part of it. If you ever get to go to a Hindu wedding… go!

I love being a Delaware Engagement Photographer! I get to know my clients better and get some big day practice in before it gets here. Meet Emily & Dan. I’ll be photographing their wedding later this year in Maryland. They wanted a beach engagement so I met them on the boardwalk in Rehoboth. We walked around the boardwalk and the beach taking shots along the way. They were nervous at first, but soon warmed up and got in to it. As we walked to the cars we took more shots in front of some stores and in some alleys. It was a great day and I can’t wait for the wedding! Here are some of my favorites from the day:

I love being a Delaware Wedding Photographer! Meet Genny & Mike. I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement photos awhile back at the beach and knew they were going to be a great couple to work with. They didn’t disappoint. I met the girls at a friend’s house for the getting ready shots. From there we headed to Pizzadili Winery in Felton, DE. The weather was perfect that day & the ceremony was quite special. Afterwards, we took care of the Bridal Party photos. They were a blast! When it was time for the reception, the Bridal Party made some crazy entrances. The boys were more crazy then the girls! The music never stopped. The whole day was a blast and it was an honor to be able to document it for them. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

I love being a Delaware Wedding Photographer! Meet Amelia & Isaac. They have been working on their relationship since grade school. After many years, they were brought back together and couldn’t be separated. We shot their engagement session a few months back and I could tell that these two were going the distance. I met the girls at Amelia’s father’s house and took care of the detail and getting ready shots. From there we headed to her grandparent’s house for a first look where they shared their first kiss. It was very touching. We then headed to the church for the ceremony. After the ceremony they had a lovely outdoor reception in the field. They had a perfect day and it was my honor to document it for them. Here are some of my favorites from the day:
